"Can I take a picture of the boat?" I said. I was five years old and there was an ocean going liner moored by the quayside. My aunt let me hold the camera and I took my first picture. I was told that the picture had to be 'developed' before I could see it, and I could hardly wait until it came back from the chemist. Thus I became hooked on photography!
Fifteen years later I was assisting top fashion photographer John Cowan on location in Milan on a shoot for Italian Vogue and decided to stay in Italy to kick start my career from assistant to photographer. I began by shooting model composites while learning the language and in 1967 I shot my first fashion magazine cover aged just 21.
I welcome any comments you may have about my pictures and will always reply to them. I hope you enjoy your visit.
